BSE and NSE Holiday List 2020
The Indian equity market is led by two leading exchanges, BSE and also NSE. We are going to present separately the BSE and NSE Market Holiday List 2020.
BSE Holidays List 2020
Bombay Stock Exchange, in short BSE, established in the year 1875. It is recognized as the oldest stock exchange in Asia and the 10th largest exchange in the world. As of April 2018, the market capitalization of the exchange is near about $2.3 trillion.
The exchange operates the market for five days a week (from Monday to Friday) from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. It remains closed on the weekends and all the national holidays in India.

NSE Holidays List 2020
NSE (National Stock Exchange) is the largest and leading exchanges in India, established in 1992. It is considered as the first demutualized electronic exchange in India. It is the world’s 11th largest stock exchange. As of 2018 April, it has an estimated total market capitalization of above $2.27 trillion.
Like Bombay Stock Exchange, NSE also works five days a week from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. It remains closed only on weekends and national holidays.

On the day of Diwali, Laxmi puja, there is a sort trading time, called Muhurat Trading. By the Muhurat trading, traders welcome the new year with charm and happiness. Timings of the Muhurat trading will be notified by the Exchange subsequently.
Other Rules of Holidays
Apart from these holidays, there are some settlement and clearing holidays. Besides this, there is a day, called Muhurat trading. The tradition of Muhurat trading begun from a long time ago, traders welcome the new year in a positive way. On the day of Deepawali, the Muhurat Trading happens every year.
